The National Circle for Indigenous Agriculture and Food (NCIAF) is proud to present wo inina 2025, a one-day event focused on the future of Indigenous food sovereignty. This gathering will take place on February 12, 2025, at the Westin Hotel in Ottawa, Ontario, and will bring together leaders in agriculture and food systems from Indigenous communities along with advocates and stakeholders from across Canada to celebrate, reflect on, and advance Indigenous food systems and the elimination of food insecurity.
From 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, the event will center around empowering Indigenous voices, celebrating the resilience and innovation of Indigenous businesses and communities. A Networking reception will follow from 4:30 to 6:30pm.
wo inina will offer a space to advocate sustained growth and investment in the Indigenous agricultural sector as well as share the significant strides NCIAF has made in supporting Indigenous food sovereignty. Throughout the day, attendees will hear from inspiring Indigenous speakers, view powerful videos, and engage with presentations that highlight key milestones and successes in tackling food insecurity faced by Indigenous Peoples across Canada.

Empower Indigenous Voices: Give a platform to community leaders and advocates to share their experiences, challenges, and visions for a future of reclaimed food sovereignty.

Celebrate Milestones and Successes: Reflect on the impact that NCIAF has had in addressing food security issues through its projects and programs by journeying alongside Indigenous agricultural leaders and change-makers.

Advocate for Growth and Support: Discuss the importance of continued support, investment, and policies that support reconciliation and foster, develop and protect culturally significant food systems and sustainability of Indigenous food systems.
Throughout the day, enjoy a variety of meals, including a delicious breakfast, lunch, two snack breaks, and the option to stay for a Networking Reception from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM. The social will provide an informal setting to continue discussions, network with peers, and build lasting connections.
