    • This program is available to eligible First Nations businesses in Manitoba. Contributions may be made towards a startup, expansion, or acquisition of a viable business.
    • Up to 40% of eligible costs.
    • Maximum $99,999 for individual First Nation businesses.
    • Maximum $250,000 for businesses owned by Manitoba First Nations or groups.
    • A minimum of a 40% commercial loan is required as part of the total financing of the business.

    • The Agroecology program focuses on the study of managed ecosystems and the application of ecological practices to achieve economically and environmentally sustainable agriculture production. Graduates are prepared for careers at the technical and management levels in government and non-government agencies involved in planning and management of natural and agricultural resources.
  3. Bachelor of Science - Food Science (Degree)

    • The four-year Food Science program explores how raw agricultural products are transformed into safe, nutritious, and appealing foods. Students can choose to focus on either the science of food processing and safety or the business side, including product development and marketing. A co-op option offers paid work placements for hands-on industry experience.

  4. Bachelor of Science - Human Nutritional Sciences (Degree)

    • This four-year program explores the role of nutrition in health, disease prevention, and food systems. Students can choose from three options—Nutrition, Foods, or Food Industry—gaining knowledge in areas like metabolism, community health, and food product development. The program offers pathways to careers in dietetics, food innovation, and health-related fields, with options for co-op and further professional study.
  5. Bachelor of Science in Agriculture – Animal Systems (Degree)

    • The four-year Animal Systems program provides a strong foundation in animal health, genetics, physiology, nutrition, and reproduction. Students study both domestic and non-traditional species and can gain real-world experience through a paid co-op placement. The program prepares graduates for careers in animal production, research, and agri-food industries.
  6. Bachelor of Science in Agriculture – Agronomy (Degree)

    • This four-year program focuses on crop production, soil management, and water resource use. Students gain an integrated understanding of sustainable land management and agronomic systems, with opportunities for hands-on learning through a co-op work placement. The program prepares graduates for careers in agriculture, research, and environmental stewardship.
  7. Bachelor of Science in Agriculture – Plant Biotechnology (Degree)

    • This four-year degree focuses on the science and technology behind improving, protecting, and utilizing crops. Students study plant genetics, physiology, pathology, and biotechnology, gaining hands-on experience through labs and a co-op work placement.   4. Food Processing - Animal Proteins (Certificate)

    • This eight-month certificate program prepares students for careers in Canada’s meat processing industry. It covers retail meat cutting, industrial processing, food safety, and business fundamentals. Students gain hands-on experience with meat preparation, equipment operation, and customer service, including a 12-week paid practicum in the industry.
  5. Horticultural Production (Certificate)

    • Full-time, hands-on program designed to equip students with practical skills in fruit and vegetable production, greenhouse operations, plant propagation, pest management, and sustainable growing practices. Offered over 9 months in Brandon or 11 months in Dauphin, the program awards a 63-credit certificate and is open to both domestic and international students.

  8. Agricultural Equipment Technician (Apprenticeship)

    • The Agricultural Equipment Technician Apprenticeship at Assiniboine College is a full-time, on-campus program delivered at the Len Evans Centre for Trades and Technology. It prepares students to service, repair, assemble, and maintain a wide range of agricultural machinery used in farming operations, including equipment for harvesting, seeding, irrigation, and more.

  9. Digital Agriculture Technology (Advanced Diploma)
